A very old apple. Gourmet French cooking apple, excellent for tarts dating back to around 1600. A good juicing apple with more vitamin C than an orange. Good sauce and cooking apple as well. Fruit medium-large uniquely shaped, yellow/pale green with light red blush on sunny side. Flesh tender, sweet, juicy. Aromatic, spicy flavour. Calville Blanc keeps its shape when cooked.
