The Shiro Noda Japanese Wisteria (Wisteria floribunda ‘Shiro Noda') is a vigorous deciduous climber with stems that twine clockwise
Produces long, elegant flower clusters (racemes) up to 47 cm or more, with beautifully scented white flowers tinged with violet.
The late Peter Valder called it “one of the most beautiful of all wisterias… this long-racemed, late-flowering cultivar should be in every collection” and “the most beautiful of the white wisterias, arousing the admiration of all who see it.” Listed in Valder’s top 10 wisterias (1996), and noted as best for pergolas, best for seed pods, and best white-flowered cultivar.
- Flowers: White with a hint of violet
- Size: To about 8 m tall x 4 m wide
- Uses: Ornamental vine perfect for adding shade or privacy. Train over a sturdy pergola, along a verandah, up a wall, or even as a bonsai.
- Features: Cascades of stunning flowers, yellow autumn foliage, ornamental seed pods, drought hardy once established.
- Also known as: Wisteria floribunda ‘White Noda’, 'Shiro-naga’, ‘Snow Showers’, ‘Alba’ and many other synonyms; Wisteria floribunda f. alba 'Shiro-noda’; White Japanese Wisteria, Japanese Wisteria White, White Wisteria floribunda.
