Magnolia x soulangeana x liliiflora 'Genie' is a spectacular eye-catching, deciduous shrub or small tree. Black-red buds are folowed by rich maroon-purple, tulip-shaped flowers 6 in. (15cm) across. Flowering primarily in Spring but may continue to bloom intermittently in the months after if moisture is sufficient. Magnolia pruning should be completed in mid-summer when in full leaf.
