The large attractive Pin Oak (Quercus palustris) is a deciduous North American tree with stunning autumn foliage. The lower branches arch gracefully to the ground clothed in bright green glossy sharply-lobed leaves that turn vibrant reds and scarlets in autumn. Many of the leaves turn chocolate brown in winter to be replaced by new leaves in spring. Its pyramidal shape and fast growth make it an ideal tree for avenues, along driveways, and as a feature tree in large gardens, parks and paddocks. Sometimes spelt Pinoak.
