The Gilbert Apple (dwarf)

$29.95

The Gilbert Apple was gifted to me (Rob Pelletier) by my dear departed friend and mentor Allen Gilbert*. It is probably the best red-fleshed apple we have seen, and there are a few around. It and makes an interesting addition in apple-based desserts and also ideal in cider to contribute colour.

  • Pollination Group: PG3
  • Uses: Cooking, cider
  • Harvest: April - May
  • Features: Exceptional red flesh, deep red fruit colour.

*With decades of experience in horticultural extension, writing and researching, Allen was the garden expert that the garden experts listened to! We sell some of his books which remain among the best guides for serious amateur and small farm gardeners in their respective categories.
