Shindeshojo Japanese Maple (Acer palmatum 'Shindeshojo')
The Shindeshojo Japanese Maple (Acer palmatum 'Shindeshojo', also known as ‘Shin Deshojo’) has many features over a year. In spring, the new foliage is a stunning red to crimson scarlet colour. After about a month, these turn to reddish green and greens over summer, followed by brilliant reds and oranges in autumn. This attractive shrub or very small deciduous tree has red-brown bark and twigs. It can tolerate full sun to part-shade and prefers shelter from wind and soil that is well-drained, moist and slightly acid.
