Farm update 6 September 2026

Posted by Kate Blood on 4th Sep 2026

This week, Rob and Kate celebrated 25 years at Glenview Park. It’s quite something to look back and think about how much the property — and our lives — have changed over that time.

Apart from major changes to the house and shedding, some of the biggest transformations have been the expansion of the gardens, establishing and growing Heritage Fruit Trees, planting multiple orchards and putting in a great deal of fencing. More recently, we’ve watched another kind of change unfold as the bushland and other areas of the farm regenerate following the 2024 bushfire.

With another busy bare-root season coming to an end, the team has been celebrating with shared lunches and a walk through the beautiful bushland surrounding the farm. There’s plenty to see at this time of year, with wildlife, wildflowers and majestic trees regenerating since the fire. The frogs and birds are well into their breeding season too, with nests being built and frog spawn appearing in the dams.

Around the orchards, spring blossom is everywhere. Almonds, plums, peaches and nectarines are flowering, along with some of our very early apples. After the grey days of winter, it’s lovely to see the orchards awash with colour again.

Our end-of-season online and on-farm sales were a great way to finish the season, and it was wonderful to see so many trees heading off to their forever homes. We especially enjoyed reconnecting with customers in person and hearing how their gardens and trees are growing. One of the highlights is meeting children who are every bit as enthusiastic about growing fruit as their parents — and encouraging the next generation of fruit growers along their fruit-growing journey.

Since the sales finished, we’ve had lots of enquiries from customers asking if they can still purchase trees. So, due to demand, we’ve put our remaining 2026 trees back online until 15 September. They’re available while stocks last, with some already beginning their spring growth.

Back at the farm, Rune has done a great job getting our parterre and rose gardens back into shape, while the team has also been sprucing up the front carpark.

And although the 2026 selling season is winding down, nursery work certainly doesn’t stop. The team is out in the paddocks pruning and staking our 2027 tree crop, helping the young trees develop good, straight growth. Before too long, we’ll be planting the tree crop for 2028.

There’s always another season underway at Glenview Park.
