Rootstock MM102 is used for the propagation of fruit trees through budding or grafting the desired scion onto the rootstock. MM102 is a cross between Northern Spy x M1, produced by the East Malling Research Station, which produces a tree between M26 and M7 depending on the soil types. Early trials found that MM102 produced average crop of good sized fruit. Renewed interest has been generated in this stock due to its M26 size response and resistance to Woolly Aphids passed on by its Northern Spy parentage.
