The Valonia Oak (Quercus ithaburensis ssp. macrolepis) is the national tree of Jordan and has a Mediterranean heritage making it ideal for much of temperate Australia. It is semi-evergreen growing to 10 to 15 metres tall. Graceful spreading shape. Has the largest acorn of the oaks and the cup in which the acorn sits has traditionally been used for tanning.
