European Pear Senateur Vaisse dates back to 1861 when it was grown from a seed by French nurseryman, M. Lagrange, in Lyons. The vigorous tree has a pyramid shape and is productive. The rather large fruit is a lighter yellow with a reddish tint where the sun reaches the skin. It has very sweet and juicy flesh with a little bit of texture. A good eating pear that can also be preserved and cooked.

Size: Up to 5 metres when mature
