Introduction to Cider-making - postponed
This workshop will suit those wanting to start making their own cider. It is really not too hard when you know how! Participants will learn the basic theory behind making cider, understand the steps required to produce cider including the preparation and processing of fruit, fermentation and bottling.
Low cost equipment suitable for the beginning cider maker will be demonstrated. The selection of suitable cider varieties will also be discussed. The program includes a tour of our Collections Orchard with over 350 varieties of apples. Your instructor will be Rob Pelletier, horticulturist and proprietor of Heritage Fruit Trees. Lunch and light refreshments provided.
