Fortune Apple (dwarf)

An early 20th century variety with Cox’s Orange Pippin a parent, raised in 1904 by Laxton Brothers Ltd. at Bedford, England and introduced in 1931. It received a First Class Certificate from the Royal Horticultural Society in 1948. Fruits have fairly firm, rather coarse-textured, juicy flesh with a sweet and good aromatic flavour. Also called Laxton’s Fortune.
