A selection of 5 Highbush cultivars ideal for SE Australian conditions. Highbush varieties generally require at least 1000 hours of chilling which is time below around 7 degrees C. They will therefore grow where most apple trees generally do well, say as far north as mid-coast NSW or further north if inland and subject to winter frosts.
